Second WSOP online event finishes up; Thomas Cannuli earns the win

In 2015, the World Series of Poker introduced the first ever online gold bracelet event to the popular poker series. For 2017, the WSOP would host three online tournaments on the schedule, each providing a gold bracelet for the winner. The first online event finished up with 2,509 players taking part in the $333 No Limit Hold’em Little Grind event. The second online WSOP bracelet event just finished up with Thomas “FLOATZ” Cannuli earning the first-place win.

The second event was the $3,333 Big Grind Event which was the largest buy-in tournament ever to take place online in Nevada. 424 players competed with 320 being unique entries and 1 7BALL CC 04 being reentries. A prize pool of $1,335,600 was created with the 25-year-old poker pro from Cape May, New Jersey earning $322,815 for outlasting the field of competitors in the event.

Once the final table was set, Cannuli was sitting third in chips but would eventually take the lead once he beat Ryan Jones with pocket queens during a single hand. Soon after, Cannuli would gain an even bigger chip lead when he beat Blake Kelso with A-K of spades with a nut flush against Kelso’s pocket queens.

In the end, there would be a three-way all-in that would see Cannuli in with pocket tens, Tara Cain in with A-3 off-suit and Adam Owen in with A-3 off-suit as well. The board fell K-Q-2-5-Q which gave Cannuli the hand and the title win.
